Moosemas 2010

MOOSEMAS is a grand old Erisian tradition. It started the early 80s (as far as I can tell) and serves as a great wackadoo replacement for the other seasonal holidays popularized by Orthodox Consumerism.

Moosemas can be celebrated at any time, in any number of ways. The default is some kind of spagan brouhaha, including Halloweeny costumes. My cabal celebrates it as a brunch party with formal attire. We hang up moose pictures all over the place and start drinking Moosemosas at 10 AM. Here are some other activities on our typical moosemas list:

  • Drink Moose Beer
  • Yell MOOSLETOV!

2009:

This was pretty early in the day. I think we had 15 to 20 people celebrating with us by sunset.

I’m holding a glass of moosenog we made from scratch. And rum.

Order of the Pineapple Nominations for 2011/3177

By now everyone’s heard of the Order of the Pineapple. What, you haven’t? Well, you’re about to be enlightened.

 The Order of the Pineapple (OP) is our second oldest and most truly “this-gives-you-bragging-rights” DisOrder. Like most of our stuff, we didn’t create it but ripped it off. It began recognizing exceptional contributions of discord and eccentricity in service to the Ek-sen-triks CluborGuild in the very early 1980s, but expanded. A connection with the original group or to the Discordian Division of the Ek-sen-triks CluborGuild rip off is considered, but not required. But exceptional service to the cause of discord and eccentric tendencies is a must.

Last year’s honorees were Professor Mu-Chao (who built this site) and Professor Cramulus (who revived this site).  Recent honorees have included Steve Jackson (SJ Games is publisher of the black cover edition of Principia Discordia) and, ahem, Reverend Loveshade.  Previous honorees included Malaclypse the Younger, Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst, Timothy Leary, and Robert Anton Wilson. Anyone is free to turn down the award, but so far no one has. We’re rather surprised at that.

The award is given out each year on Pat Pineapple Day, which is January 18. So it’s time to think of nominating worthies for next year’s award. While only a member of the DisOrder can technically make a nomination, we’ll take suggestions for deserving trouble-makers from anyone. Send your suggestions including reasons why we should consider your proposed member to op2011@loveshade.org. This is a temporary email address and will be discontinued after the 2011 winners are announced on 18 January 2011. Please send nominations and suggestions for nominations no later than Santa Claus Day (25 December 2010).

Legend of The Green Dragon

Legend of The Green Dragon is a browser-based online RPG. It’s very simple – low commitment, high fun. I am running my own instance of LoGD so you can hack and slash your way to my  heart.

Your character will wander through the forest, mindlessly executing hapless monsters.  Challenge your master to level up and explore a more difficult part of the forest. Eventually you will have the strength to challenge the wretched and terrible Green Dragon.

Bring your friends, start a clan, rule the world.

I’ll be slowly modding and customizing the game as we go. The monsters, weapons, armor, and trainers can be renamed, please hit me up with feedback and ideas!
